Our client, an established Scaffolding contractor are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team in South East London to aid the tendering function.

Responsibilities:
  • Managing the accuracy of the Estimating function to price tenders and generates estimates & quotations.
  • Generate accurate estimates and quotations by liaising between various internal departments to gain specific details relating to the projects.
  • When required, attend technical reviews on large projects to understand requirements and advise on the best approach to production/estimating.
  • Manage workflow to ensure all timelines are met and prioritised to meet project briefs.
  • Completing all PQQs and any other required documents to be submitted along with the BOQ.

Junior Project Manager required in Central London – Call now for immediate start!

The role would ideally suit a construction professional who recently made the step up to Site Management position after gaining extensive experience on the tools, and is looking to fast-track their career to Project Management level.

Role: Remote site & construction management.

Management of build one-off high performance homes one at a time in remote locations across the South of England. The manufactured kit of parts are, once assembled traditionally finished with dry lining, cladding etc. This brings a unique set of constraints in the delivery of the homes, in particular it means projects have to be managed from afar which is overcome though the company’s technological approach.

It is typical that each project will have newly appointed working site foreman whose core functions are to communicate activity back to the London HQ and deal with the immediacy of the days tasks - the successful candidate will be in constant communication with each projects site foreman, planning ahead and ensuring that every home built meets the same stringent requirements.

The successful candidate will have honed their skills on the construction site and will be looking to or may already have made the transition to being office based, with occasional site visits at key stages. They will have a passion for modern methods of construction, doing things differently and being part of a team that takes pride in delivering great homes. They will become a critical member of the company as it grows.

Key responsibilities:
  • Ensure that completion dates are met.
  • Ensure that sites are safe.
  • Ensure that the homes are built as designed.

Delivery:
  • Manage the programme in MS Projects
  • Book in dates for appointed subcontractors to be on site
  • Ensure subcontractors are on site as expected
  • Constant communication with working site foreman for each site
  • Ensure materials and goods are on site when required
  • Ensure that we are not incurring additional costs from Subcontractors
  • Work closely with project leaders of each project

Site setup & Safety:
  • Agree and implement safe site setup
  • Agree with working site foreman and checks required on daily, weekly, monthly basis.
  • Ensure RAMS have been received for subs
  • Manage and order Welfare units
  • Manage and order Signage
  • Manage and order site Access
  • Order small tools and ad hoc materials
  • Design scaffold access with project leader.
  • Booking in agency staff for basic tasks when required.

Communications:
  • Manage / Request data capture from site foreman
  • RFI from design team/ Project leaders when required
  • Ensuring the up to date drawing information has been delivered to site
  • Manage multiple sites.
  • Ensuring digital drawings are uploaded to shared drive.
  • Manage the MS projects gantt chart

Experience:
  • Extensive construction trade experience
  • 1 - 2 Years Site management
  • SMSTS
  • ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification / experience in construction related discipline
  • MS Projects

THE PERSON WE WANT

You must be service orientated and procedure driven. You are likely to be degree educated or equivalent and enjoy recruitment but feel you are more suited to delivery and candidate work rather than cold calling for vacancies.
